Mr Matthew Sica Matt

Matthew, joined us in 2009 and lives near Wells with his wife Mel, a physiotherapist and they have two young sons.

He qualified from Bristol and has worked in Bristol and the surrounding counties. He held an honorary position at Bristol Dental Hospital in the Oral Surgery department. 

Matthew’s continued enthusiasm, passion for dentistry and compassion he shows his patients is always well received. He also enjoys treating children and helping them achieved good oral health.

Matthew's hobbies make him a bit of an action man, and no wonder as they include climbing, sailing, diving, skiing, motor biking and running. In fact, he completed the London Marathon in April 2014!


Ms Hannah Pepper

Hannah qualified in dentistry from Bristol in 1999 having won the undergraduate commendation prizes in oral medicine and oral surgery.

She completed General Professional Training in Newcastle Dental Hospital where she trained in sedation, paediatric dentistry and oral surgery whilst passing her MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. She worked in Melbourne Dental Hospital in oral surgery for a year and then returned to Bristol to work for a year in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Royal Infirmary. She has worked in general dental practice with many years of experience in sedation, oral surgery, facial aesthetics and general dentistry.

She embarked on a medical degree in 2007, finishing with honours. Working as a hospital doctor for 6 years she gained valuable experience in paediatrics, general medicine and surgery, completing her MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2011.

She began working at Rock House Dental Practice in 2014, and although she still occassionally does hospital work, she now spends most of her working week at the practice.

Hannah enjoys spending time in the Somerset countryside with her family and other animals, and loves to bake sourdough and make homemade jams and pickles.


Ms Joanne S Parry

Jo qualified from the University Of Wales College of Medicine in 1997 and completed her Vocational Training in South Wales. As an undergraduate, Jo had considered joining the Military as a Dental Officer but it was in her VT year that she decided that she wanted more of a challenge and in 1998 she was commissioned into the Royal Army Dental Corps.

Following officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst she served in North Yorkshire, Falkland Islands, Northern Ireland, Germany, Central London, Windsor, Colchester and Pirbright, gaining operational experience in Kosovo, Iraq and most recently Afghanistan. During her time in the Army Jo was able to attain Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, Royal College of Surgeons and her Masters degree in Conservative Dentistry. She has been Senior Dental Officer in a number of military dental centres and also acted as a specialist interest dentist (Restorative Dentistry), foundation dentist trainer and has instructed on a number of military dental courses. After 16 years of service, Jo decided to leave the Army, “I am extremely proud of my military career, particularly as I have been able to travel and carry out dentistry in some arduous conditions. I am proud to be part of the team at Rock House, helping to continue to provide the excellent standard of dentistry for which they are renowned.”

Jo has now settled in the fabulous town of Frome where she enjoys the variety that the town has to offer. Jo currently spends most her spare time working on house renovations but also loves listening to music, cooking and walking.


Mr Neil Dibden

We would like to introduce you to Neil Dibden who joined us in 2016 and welcome him to our team.Neil will be caring for those patients who are under the care of Helena Morrell who left at the end of January.

With Wells and the surrounding area having new homes and many families moving in, we are delighted that he will be able to work full time.
Originally from Southampton in Hampshire, Neil qualified from the University of Wales, College of Medicine and Dentistry in 2002.
He started work in general practice in a small village on the outskirts of Winchester, where he found his passion for treating nervous patients, and becoming part of the local community.  
With further experience in large multi-discipline NHS practices in North Somerset and private practice near Surrey, Neil and his family have now made a home here in Somerset. A keen interest in ongoing dental education resulted in him becoming a Foundation Trainer in 2011, in a role which involved the mentoring of newly qualified dental practitioners.
Particular fields of interest include the treatment of very nervous patients, and minimal intervention cosmetic dentistry.

Outside of work Neil enjoys Motorsport and performance cars, and spends countless hours walking their beloved dog in the Mendip hills and on the local beaches, with his young family.

Mrs. Sara Kendall

Sara qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1987 from Bristol Dental Hospital, University of Bristol. In 2009 she trained in smoking cessation counselling.


Miss Maya Ringshall

B.D.S. (Bristol) 2001, MFDS RCS(Eng) 2004

Maya qualified as a dentist in 2001 and worked in both general and hospital dentistry until 2007. Maya achieved her Membership of the Faculty of Dental surgeons during her time as a senior house officer at Bristol Dental Hospital in 2004 and developed an interest in periodontal disease. At present she enjoys working as a hygienist here on Wednesdays and Saturdays.


Mrs Kerry Orrell

Kerry is one of our part-time dental hygienists who works on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday morning. Kerry qualified in 2011 from the University of Bristol Dental School with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Kerry was also awarded the Dentsply award for clinical skill and professionalism.

Kerry has recently married and lives locally with her husband.


Mrs Stephanie Sherwood

Stephanie qualified from Bristol University in 2010 as a Dental Hygiene Therapist and was pleased to be awarded the Dentsply Award for Highest Level of Practical Achievement. She is a member of The British Society of Dental Hygiene Therapy.

Since she qualified Stephanie has been working in London in a west end Private practice, Royal London Hospital and the City where she worked closely with dentists to provide excellent periodontal care. She is passionate about her job and enjoys caring for her patients particularly treating anxious patients.

Stephanie recently moved back to Bristol with her partner and two young children and is thoroughly enjoying 'country living!' Stephanie enjoys cooking, playing and listening to music and keeping fit.


Mrs Katy Gordon

Katy started as a dental nurse at the age of sixteen and loved it. After ten years she trained in dental hygiene while serving with the Royal Navy, and think it's the best thing she has ever done.

Her hobbies have taken something of a back seat since she became a mum, but she has recently returned to practising martial arts!


Miss Jennifer Hall

Jennifer acheived the GDC 'Prize For Professionalism' during her training. For the last ten years she has worked as a hygienist at the Bristol Dental Hospital and has been involved in teaching the next generation of dental hygienists. She has also lectured at post-graduate level across the South West.

In her spare time, Jennifer loves to sew and makes numerous little creatures out of felt and fabric.

Teresa joined us in 1986 as a trainee dental nurse and has worked with us ever since! She has obtained her certificate in oral health education and dental radiography. Teresa is currently working partime and has a daughter.

Miss Helen Makin

Helen joined our team in June 1997 . She trained as a dental nurse, obtaining her qualification in 2002. Subsequently she has obtained qualifications in dental radiography. Helen also has her certificate in Customer Services and now enjoys spending part of her week working on reception.

Rachel joined our nursing team in 2004. Now a qualified dental nurse, she has returned from maturnity leave to work with us part time.

Mrs Lorraine Webb

Lorraine joined our team in November 2008 after moving from her previous practice in Shepton Mallet and currently works 3 days a week.


Mrs Tina Rowland

Tina joined our team in May 2011. Tina moved from her previous practice in Shepton Mallet to work with us 4 days a week. We are delighted she has had the training to provide the preventative treatment of fluoride varnish application to childrens teeth. Tina enjoys visiting children at local play groups and schools to give oral health advice.

Holly joined the team in January 2016 after moving with her family from Surrey, currently she works part time with us. Holly has experience as a receptionist in additional to her nursing skills, so you may see her welcome you to the practice as she joins our reception team on occasions.

Miss Megan Dyer

Megan joined us in February 2016 from another local dental practice, she will be working full time. We are delighted that she has experience in both implant and sedation nursing and will be able to assist our visiting dentists Scott Wetton and Dr Hannah Pepper during their clinics.

Mrs Carol Govier

Carol joined our team in March 1994 as a dental nurse. Now Carol likes to work on our reception and has gained a wealth of knowledge attending courses and events. She was our Office Manager until October 2013 when she was given the promotion to Practice Manager. Carol continues to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of our office and staff.


Miss Jackie Doyle

Jackie joined our team in Febuary 2011. She actually worked for us when we had a practice in Street many years ago. When Jackie heard of a position coming vacant she asked if she could join us.  Jackie may look very familiar to many of you; well I think it may be because she is Carol’s (our Practice Manager) sister! Jackie’s role is working on reception.
